I posted an ad on Craiglist about hiring sketch artists for my wedding, paying $30 per hour. This is a conversation I had with a harassing reply: (From Jay) Hi, Just some advice. I don't know who you think artists are, but they are not immigrant workers. You say you want professionals and you have the audacity to offer 4 dollars an hour pay! Maybe you are not fully aware of what the hourly wage for something like this would be but I can assure you to even think for a second that its below minim wage is astonishing. What you are offering as far as pay and food vs. what you are demanding from the artists is INSULTING! Reading your post I was interested until I go to the part about pay, off clock this off clock that. If you are truly interested in hiring a artists to do caricatures of you and your guest you should treat them with more respect! These people dedicate their entire lives do get paid 4 dollars an hour? That is less then minim wage to do something thats takes a life time. An honest days work for an honest days pay and you are offering a honest days work for a slap in the face. If I knew you personally and found out this is how you wanted to treat someone who is doing work for you I would be utterly ashamed to know you. The addition is fine, even though this is EXTREMELY short notice, and being able to work fast is good for this type of work. If I were you and I really did want professionals to do this for a wedding I would stop acting like a plantation owner and pay someone a real wage. Artists are not here to be shat upon. (From Me) Wow Mr. Fernandez. You are sorely mistaken. If you will look again at my price offering I am offering $30.00 per hour, plus tip, plus food! Possible negotiation" You clearly have some rage issues and I am grateful I was introduced to you in this manner, because there is no chance I would ever hire someone as rude as you. Next time you should take a moment and double check before you send an email like that. Please do not respond unless it is to apologize. (From Jay) Rage has nothing to do with my issues with people miss treating artists. I see at the VERY bottom you have $ 30 and hour. I was mistaken. However I am not rude for trying to inform and miss informed person. In addition, I can respond however I would like to, you do not control me, unfortunately. I can say whatever I please! I'm sure you like to treat other people as if they were your personal slaves, who must obey you without question but I do not! I could give a rats *** if a ****** little **** like you hires me. :)
