127.0.0.1, also known as localhost, is a loopback address that refers to your own computer. When you connect to 127.0.0.1, you're connecting to yourself. It's used for testing and development purposes.

Why is the entire 127.x.x.x range reserved?

The entire 127.0.0.0/8 range (127.0.0.1 to 127.255.255.254) is reserved for loopback purposes. While 127.0.0.1 is most commonly used, any address in this range will loop back to your local machine.

That IP just screamed "hack attempt" to me. Cant believe how clueless some ppl r bout security. Better watch ur logs, or they might just keep pokin around.
