These Nigerians are responsible for wide spread fraud and scamming attempts by contacting people who are selling items from the UK on Gumtree and other sites. They offer to purchase the item and ask the seller to request payment from paypal. Following the selllers request, a (fake) 'Payment Confirmation' ostensibly from Paypal is sent, and the scammers give the seller an address in Lagos to which to send the goods, say that they have made the required payment, as demonstrated by the fake paypal notification. Of course, the Paypal request is never honoured. The Nigerian'Financial and Economic Crime Commission'in Lagos has this gang currently under investigation and pursuit.
