Complaint by Greg Scher :

IP address 127.0.0.1 is a generic IP that scammers try to hide behind and make it look like they are located somewhere else in the world. That IP automatically routes through Ellerocity in France. The IP Address itself is considered a "hoopback" address designed to mask the origination point of the senders. In almost every case I have traced this IP address it goes back directly to either Accra, Ghana or Lagos, Nigeria. In EVERY CASE THESE ARE SCAMMERS!!!!!

Complaint by PJ Joseph B :

Phone is always running. Seems like someone is just going through my texts, pics, call logs etc. Phone works fine, but when I actually go to use it. It acts like I caught it doing something wrong. Gets confused briefly, then straightens itself out.. Installed IP access alert app and it takes about half a second to register 0000.00etc.. Feels like big brother. Since most of these are Google uid. Or net 80 . or 50.. In battery usage I've seen 60 %usage by F.M. radio.. Wtf? I pay for this **** ? I would like some answers. I've no money to scam like most in the forums seem to be experiencing. Any words of wisdom out there? Or jus lyers, hacks, and scammers

Complaint by Just me :

I got a notification of "mail delivery system" supposedly the email I sent out was being returned to me as undeliverable. I checked several IP address's in the guts and one of them was this number. The other number was missouri, no where near where I was sending the mail. I have no clue as to what this is but I am not opening the link to read the message. I will just delete and re-send another message to my friend. Just a FYI... as I don't know if this is real or not.

Everyone here is quite stupid and does not know how IP addresses work. No, someone with the IP address of 127.0.0.1 did not "scam" you. Why? Because 127.0.0.1 is YOUR localhost/loopback IP. So, unless someone using the same computer as you "scammed" you, you did NOT get scammed by 127.0.0.1

DNSBL* - is a list of IP addresses published through the Internet Domain Name Service (DNS) either as a zone file that can be used by DNS server software, or as a live DNS zone that can be queried in real-time. DNSBLs are most often used to publish the addresses of computers or networks linked to spamming; most mail server software can be configured to reject or flag messages which have been sent from a site listed on one or more such lists.

WHOIS** - is a query/response protocol that is widely used for querying databases in order to determine the registrant or assignee of Internet resources, such as a domain name, an IP address block, or an autonomous system number. WHOIS lookups were traditionally performed with a command line interface application, and network administrators predominantly still use this method, but many simplified web-based tools exist. WHOIS services are typically communicated using the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP). Servers listen to requests on the well-known port number 43.

** Approximate Geographic Location - This is NOT the exact geographical location of the person/organization with the given IP address. However, this should still give you a good idea about the area/region where this person/orgranization is located.
