constantly trying to login to wordpress sites via "admin" user (which I've deleted)
A host, 91.207.4.186 has been locked out of the WordPress site due to too many login attempts.
This IP keeps following me and I would really prefer that they not be allowed access to WordPress given the documented history of attempted and successful hacking incidents. I believe that this IP is trying to hack into my website.
today from ip 91.207.4.186 we find 85 hits to 85 pages- there are only a dozen pages on the site ! We don't know what the intent is (?) each page has content but it is not looking at content-so we use IP deny. It would appear that there is a lot of spammers and hackers located in the Ukraine - what do we do? perhaps ban all ip's from the Ukraine ? bob and lisa
The outfit visits my site more than any other IP address. Cluttering my stats with extraneous data.
This IP has tried hacking our web site for weeks now! Tried hundreds of illegal access and still insist ;-) May be because we sell some software on-line? A record 350+ attempts yesterday with a different request each time!

DNSBL* - is a list of IP addresses published through the Internet Domain Name Service (DNS) either as a zone file that can be used by DNS server software, or as a live DNS zone that can be queried in real-time. DNSBLs are most often used to publish the addresses of computers or networks linked to spamming; most mail server software can be configured to reject or flag messages which have been sent from a site listed on one or more such lists.
WHOIS** - is a query/response protocol that is widely used for querying databases in order to determine the registrant or assignee of Internet resources, such as a domain name, an IP address block, or an autonomous system number. WHOIS lookups were traditionally performed with a command line interface application, and network administrators predominantly still use this method, but many simplified web-based tools exist. WHOIS services are typically communicated using the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP). Servers listen to requests on the well-known port number 43.
** Approximate Geographic Location - This is NOT the exact geographical location of the person/organization with the given IP address. However, this should still give you a good idea about the area/region where this person/orgranization is located.
