I worked for a couple who went out of town they run an antiques shop and so I spent 3 days working with people from Craig's List who had been ripped off and ended up speaking to the local precinct and the Dept of Treasury on the fraudsters who had stolen checking account info from my employers. I just listed some things on CL myself and won't sell to anyone who can't be googled and just googled ChucksFinn cause that name is suspicious. voila. Glad there is a blog for this! His MO - asking for my photos; info about background and wants to pay by paypal. No way!

He is still at it. Tried selling a bedroom set on craigslist and got a reply from arere809@sbcglobal.net asking what my best off and condition of it. I found it weird that they were asking those questions considering I put my price and pictures on the posting. Anyway, I replied stating that the price i posted was the price and that they could see it in person for a better idea of the furniture. Got another reply from rc1005sc@gmail.com "Chucks Finn" stating almost word for word what you all have posted already. First thing that clued me in was the different email addresses, but then the whole paypal thing maid me even more uncomfortable. Decided to look it up on the internet and came to this thread. Thanks for the heads up everyone. Glad all I did was respond to an email and not give him any more info.

Me too, me too! Two email addresses: jhau98@sbcglobal.net (no name) & rc1005sc@gmail.com (Chucks Finn). I am selling an item and got the exact same communications as everyone above, asking for paypal information. I gave none as I thought that was odd. Instead, I asked them for all of their contact info so that I could send an invoice, haven't heard back from them yet. That's when I decided to do a search on the email address. I don't get why people do this kind of thing.

Same thing happened to us. He asked us our best price on our boat and jet ski we were purchasing. He is currently going by Chucks Finn and has two email addresses listed: southpole1@bellsouth.net and rc1005sc@gmail.com . Luckily, we have given him no information and I looked him up. This blog was very helpful.

I had some mary kay products well I get a email asking questions about the product so I reply back thinking nothing about it. Then I got another email about a hour later asking more questions, well that wasn't the problem I noticed it was from the same person but a different email address I noticed the part the I had reply a hour earlier. Saying the same thing.. > I appreciate your prompt response, I will like you to email me with > some close up pictures of this nice item. I am buying this item > ASAP.I will arrange for it to be picked up by a pick up > agent who will be coming for the pick up once the payment clears, I > will also be paying you through PayPal which i believe is safe and > secured for both of us, I will also be responsible for the PayPal > charges. All I need from you now is for you to get back to Me with > your PayPal email > id so that I can send your payment ASAP.I will also like you to get > back to me with the following Answers: > > Are you the first owner of it? > Why are you selling it? > When have you been using it? > > Looking forward to read from you..... > Many Thanks. Well I decided to Google his email address. And I found this page. The sad part is if all his email addresses get canceled or banned from craiglist he'll get get new one's.

I went down this scammers path just to see how far it would go. I gave him his own email address that he originally emailed as the Paypal email address. He's yet to figure that out. Then I did a search on that Jacklyn A Solomon who is his evidently his partner in crime since he provided her address as his agent who will be so called picking it up. And evidently her old physical address is still out there on the internet. I used that as my home address. LOL! If you want to see a picture of him, here you go. I'm half tempted to start a gmail chat with him :) http://i1225.photobucket.com/albums/ee394/mistafeeze/scammer.jpg

Complaint by Keiko :

I almost got scammed by this guy. He went by JOHN COLLINS at rc1005sc@gmail.com. My boyfriend had the know-how to look the email up and to call me immediately and alert me to this !@#*$^ scammer. I closed my paypal account and deleted my postings from Craigslist just in time. I also notified CL from my boyfriend's direction. The email conversation is the same as all the others. I was selling some antique silverware. He was willing to pay over my selling price and went on to add more $$ on top of that so I can western union the fee to his pick-up agent who requires his fee before coming over. The most recent complaint before mine is exactly what he wrote me too. Sad there are so many untrustworthy people that good people cannot do honest business.

Right after I sent the photos, the bulb in my head went off and said "This isnt right". My dumb *** did not read the entire email before I reacted.

Complaint by Jake :

I received an email on a boat that I was selling on craigslist, it only asked me what my best offer was and what condition it was in. I was suspicious since I had pictures up that show the condition of the boat. I clicked reply and saw that the return email was different from doodlebear6@aol.com - it actually showed up as rc1005sc@gmail.com I searched it and it brought me here. I think I'll be ignoring this email and possibly be flagging it as spam. If somebody can give me a good explanation for why the email would be different, I would appreciate the help.

Nice, I was trying to sell a piano and got an email from this guy. Actually included my paypal email in my first response, but after about 2 mins realized that was the dumbest thing I could have done. Logged on to paypal and changed my account and removed that email 10 mins after it was sent. Super glad I did now as I have found this.
