I usually pre-screen customers starting with google search of names and I came across this. I am glad that people here posted their complaints. I've already replied but will now have to block them. I was curious if they were in Canada or not. I suspect if they are a scam they are probably trying to access email accounts to check for online banking or something, ha! Sadly dissapoined.

I just posted an ad on Kijiji to sell my car and almost immediately got a text from this person asking to email my final asking price to betterdayaheadme01@gmail.com. After seeing this I now know it is a scam. Thank you!
Thanks for this warning! Just started to get the txts and now emails. Seemed fishy so I looked up betterdayaheadme01 and this page pops up right on top! Scammers are the worst!
I forgot to mention she said she was deaf and in a wheelchair and had limited access to cash. Do not fall for thid.
She offered to buy my car off me which I almost fell for as I am a new PayPal user. She offered me the full asking price (£400) plus an extra £50 to sucure the sale for her only. Foolishly I sent my details to her and the following morning I had an email saying the money had been sent and she had sent an extra £280 for the courier and all I had to do was take £280 in cash to any western union branch or any post office and once they had received the payment they would unblock my money and send it to my PayPal.

Hi, One thing I forgot: I was surprised at how good the English was. It was conversational, colloquial, etc. Not at all like usual email scams. The story sounded weird, though. Why on earth would an American military person buy a car in Canada that they've never seen?!? Thanks!

After getting a text just like CTH's above (same phone number), and me responding by gmail, I got a response from this email account saying she's overseas in the American military (a CBRN Specialist 47D no less!). She asks for the identical info mentioned by Ryan Ranks above, but hadn't yet got into the Western Union bit. Thank you all for sharing.
Spam asking for more information about a car being sold on kijiji. used TextNow.com service 1-646-583-4258. Person did not leave a name and only refered to my car as the one for sale on kijiji.ca Contact came within minutes of me bumping my add bak to the top from page 16.
Same deal as above except portrayed themselves as a US military person. Promised to pay full price site unseen. Attempted fraudulent use of PayPal including supplying a transaction ID which was actually valid but not tied to name and originated in the UK. Stated that the full payment plus a contractor pick up fee was on deposit with PayPal and when we sent the pick up fee (our money) by money gram PayPal would release the purchase price plus pick fee. We did not bite and they are now calling and emailing to numbers/addresses we did not disclose.
